Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike Nice Bike
This is a sweat bike. My only complaint is the pedals are too close to the ground. Riding on trails they hit the ground when crossing a slope. Other than that its built very well.

Cool Bike
The Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike arrived in perfect condition, in a big box with all parts assembled except for the front wheel, pedals, handlebar and seat. Assembly was very quick and it took me less than 20 minutes to assemble the whole Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike. The only tools that I needed was a ratchet handle with hex bits, one philips screwdriver, and an air pump to fill air in those tires - Nothing else. I had to tweak the rear breaks by a bit, and also had to adjust the spacing between the two disk pads on the front brakes. Oh yeah, the handle bar stem which was turned inside to make it fit in the box had to be turned to point outside.

The Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike overall feels sturdy and smooth while riding. Also the paint and decals look great!

The front gear shifting works like a charm - without any issues. I did notice that the rear gears do not move that smooth from high to low, and sometimes it requires a double shift on the trigger to change gears. Im not sure if I need to tweak the settings to make it run perfect.

As of now, I am pretty pleased with the purchase!!! Only time will tell if it would live up to the Schwinn reputation! Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike

Schwinn Prorocol 1 bike
The bike is generally a good Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike, but like many other bikes, even higher-priced ones, the wheels (rims) are the weakest point. In my case, the rear wheel was out of round (radius variation) as well as wobbling (side-ways variation) causing a slightly bumpy ride and the rear wheel hitting the brake pads.

The cause is sloppy assembly and inadequate quality control. It is unacceptable on a new bike. Fortunately I know how to fix such problems. The wobbling is the easy part to fix, but the out of round defect requires removing the tire and the tube, them loosen all the spoke nuts, adjusting the radius, and re-tighten all the spoke nuts while at the same time maintain consistent radius and zero-wobbling.

I would advice potential buyers to require that the wheels are inspected, and corrected as needed, when placing the order Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike.

BTW, I purchased my bike through Schwinn Protocol 1.0 Men's Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike.

Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike Good Bike For The Price
I found this bike on Amazon for what I thought was a decent price ($50 cheaper compared to everywhere else) so I decided to get it. Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike arrived on time and was in good shape. I'd say it took around 20 min. to get it out of the box and assemble it up properly. As soon as I started riding it I noticed that both the front and rear brake calipers were rubbing against the disc and were making a horrible noise. After a 15 min. adjustment I had it back up and running again and it has worked fine for me ever scince. Just don't buy a $300 Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike expecting it to perform like a $1000 bike, because it wont. However, for all the features that you get, and with a little adjusting here and there I think that this is a good Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike for the money.

Not bad for price...but plan on doing some work
I bought this Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike new from my local store on sale for $180 dollars. I figured a full suspension, aluminum frame Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike with disc brakes for $180 was a deal I couldn't pass up. I wish I would have.

After taking it home and doing an initial setup on the bike (adjusting suspension droop, brake pad clearances, etc.) I took it out for the first ride. I use the Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike primarily as a commuter, but take it to the local trails on the weekend. The bike preforms as expected on the streets, but the rear suspension was a little weak for my liking. The bob while pedaling hard uphill takes away a lot of your power to the ground.

After my first ride, I got the bike home and did a second check on it (mind you, this is still the first day). I am meticulous with cleaning and checking my bikes after every off-road session. I found the rear derailler was loose. I took it off of the bike and found that the Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike shop that assembled the bike did not use any lock-tite on the bolt. This is not a problem with the bike, but the bike shop. I decided to check all of the fasteners on the bike...same problem.

I have now had the bike for about 5 months and it is serving me pretty well as a daily commuter. I have found that as long as I do the maintenance on the Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike, everything is holding up pretty well. The problems that others have had with deraillers not working and brake rub have not been an issue for me.

So you may be thinking, why did I rate the Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike a two? Pretty simple, really. The weight of the bike and quality of the components leave something to be desired. I have had to replace all of the bushings on the rear linkage twice in the six months that I have owned the bike. Since I have only gone off-road with it three times, this is more often than I should have to replace them. The rear seat post has a tendency to slip down slowly no matter how much you tighten the clamp. I replaced the seat post and clamp and now have no problems. The seat that comes with the bike is uncomfortable at best. I changed that to a Sette saddle (not one of the big cushy seats) for a more comfortable ride. The rear wheel hub is weak. If you buy this bike, plan on upgrading that as quickly as possible.

Even though I only paid $180 for this Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike, I have now invested well over $300 in maintenance and/or repairs. I would have been better off getting the Cannondale hard tail they had on sale for $350. Oh well, better luck next time.

Great bike
This bike was the only one that had everything I wanted (dual suspension, dual disk brakes, Shimano EZ shifters) and was under $350.00. I looked at other review, and people were comparing it with $1000's Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike... That's not even close to fair.

Anyway, if you want a bike that has really good parts, a good setup, and cheap, this is your bike. So far, I put a few miles on it and it is really awesome. Suspension, brakes, tires, weight, everything is better than I expected based on the price. A good exercise: compare it with those $300-$350 bikes you see at Sports stores and you'll realize how better this Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike is.

Only one con: despite the easy assembly, the front derailer came totally out of alignment. I worked it a bit (I'm no expert), but I will probably spend some $ in servicing it.
2nd review (06/01/09): there's a slight change from the Mongoose Status Dual-Suspension Mountain Bike you see in the picture and the one I received. The holes in the frame where is installed the bottle support face down. This is a problem, since once you have it with a bottle and the front suspension goes down a 1 inch the front tire hits the bottle. Not the end of the world, but I would change my review to 4 1/2 starts if possible.

Pacific Stratus Men's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) From Pacific

Editorial Reviews
Product Description
Get off the beaten path when biking in the great outdoors with the strong>Pacific Stratus Men's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels). The Stratus is equipped with steel mountain frame geometry, along with sure-stopping front and rear steel caliper brakes. The strong>Pacific Stratus Men's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) Torque Drive 15-gear thumb shifters, meanwhile, help you change gears quickly while on the move. Other features include a mountain handlebar and stem, a one-piece MTB crank, and steel wheels for control and durability.

The price is excellent. What I wanted was something for my 8 year old to get used to the idea of shifting and being able to climb those steeper hills. The good news is my son loves it. Here are some problems to look out for.

It is not shipped well. Pacific Stratus Men's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) comes in an unprotected box and arrived at my house all beat up and was missing a small plastic plug that fits in the top of the front suspension. The box had holes in it, so no telling where that ended up, anyway it could've been much worse. The rear derailleur was slightly bent during shipping. The brakes Pacific Stratus Men's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) needed adjusting and a good bit of assemply was required. You need to be a bit of a handyman to put it together.

Also, for shorter riders (like my son) the top cross bar is too high and you can't adjust the seat enough.

I went down to the new 'Dicks' sporting goods store to check out their bikes after I bought this off amazon. 'Dicks' had a Diamondback with these features (minus the dual suspension which really isn't needed for a kid) for $89.00 and it was much, much better quality. I was really kicking myself for not spending the extra money, because it was much safer bike to. My son had a pretty bad wreck because the Pacific Stratus Men's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) failed coming down a hill (he was fine, but it scared me and twisted alot of the bike up), this was mostly due to my poor brake adjustment and he was new to handle bar brakes. Anyway, that diamondback is also much better to adjust for different heights and is especially good for shorter 12 year olds. Plus that diamondback had excellent shimano components for durability etc.

Well, Pacific Stratus Men's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) if you really can only spend $89, this is a good bike, but for the extra $70, you can get an awesome bike that will last for many years.

Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)Beautiful Bike, but missing parts on arrival.
I just got this bike yesterday, and overall it was easy to assemble, though the Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) allen wrench required wasn't included in the shipping contents as they usually are. Luckily, I had one that fit from another item I had purchased in the past. When I got to the Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) handle bars after getting the rest of it together, I realized that I was also missing a few nuts and washers that helped lock it in the proper place to make steering the bike possible. Kind of an important detail, don't you think? Hopefully I will be able to find what I need at a hardware store or bike shop. It is a beautiful Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) bike, but the seat is pretty hard as the last reviewer mentioned, so I would definitely recommend getting a gel seat. I was just disappointed to see that something so important to the Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) assembly was missing. Can't get a better deal than I did on this bike though. I would still recommend it to others.

Great bike!
My mom bought me this Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) bike for a college graduation present and I really love it. I do a lot of off road/trail/mountian biking as well as just riding in town, and it has great traction and is an overall comfortable ride. The only thing I didn't like was that the seat was extremely hard, but I easily fixed that with a new gel one. Now it feels great. The Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) instructions on assembling it were a little confusing but my dad is great with things like that so I had no problem there. Overall it is a great bike and I would recommend this bike to anyone.

Very hard seat
This Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) was very easy to put together as most of it was already assembled but the seat is terrible and hard so if you get this bike order a gel seat along with it. The Pacific Evolution Women's Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) really is a great value even with the wretched seat.

Pacific Outdoor Wilderness Series Trail Tamer Mountain Bike

2 of 5 stars not for the Pacific Outdoor Wilderness Series Trail Tamer Mountain Bike bike, but for the advertisement.

This bike was purchased by a co-worker of mine and I was recruited to assemble the bike.
(Assembly was very easy. Pacific Outdoor Wilderness Series Trail Tamer Mountain Bike Only need slight break adjustment)

HOWEVER, the bike is not as advertised, not a 21 speed bike.
HINT: Take a look at the picture, there is no front derailleur.
7 gears on the back, 1 on the front Pacific Outdoor Wilderness Series Trail Tamer Mountain Bike = 7 Speed.

Great Pacific Outdoor Wilderness Series Trail Tamer Mountain Bike bike, but horrible advertisement
I bought this bike via Amazon.com for my son's 8th birthday. I was a little apprehensive not having seen the brand, but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It was packaged well and was assembled in about 20 minutes. The derailleur was perfectly calibrated and the brakes required only minor adjustment.

My son absolutely loves this ride Pacific Outdoor Wilderness Series Trail Tamer Mountain Bike. He can finally keep up with the rest of the family on the flats and gear-down when he gets to the hills. No need to push his bike on most inclines. The twist-shifter is a bit stiff for him, but I suspect that it'll loosen as it wears.

The quality of the components is on-par with cycles costing double and it weighs MUCH less than his old single-speed, no suspension bike. It also gives him plenty of room to grow into. I expect several years of use before he needs a replacement.

Great buy Pacific Outdoor Wilderness Series Trail Tamer Mountain Bike at $168 and free shipping
It was not difficult for the father to assemble. The 8 year old grandson likes it.

Pacific Chromium Women's Dual Suspenstion Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)

Pacific Chromium Women's Dual Suspenstion Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels)So I got this bike because it looked really pretty and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a bike, though I love Pacific Chromium Women's Dual Suspenstion Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) to ride and my last one got stolen. So I got it fast and everything seemed ok but when putting it together, the handle bars (where you insert them to connect them to the bike) seemed to be a little out of line and I had to use a tool to hammer the metal to the perfect shape in order to fit in the insert for the Pacific Chromium Women's Dual Suspenstion Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) handle bars. I eventually go it to work and that was ok. Also for some reason the other day when I was riding (I have had the bike for close to a month now and everything seems pretty good so far) but the Pacific Chromium Women's Dual Suspenstion Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) pedal fell off. And I know I put it on there securely because it has been good for a month of riding, but it fell off in the middle of my riding, so I was a little disappointed in that. I love the bike, the color, and I cant afford another right now so I hope that these minor things won't continue to cause me trouble. Overall, its a good Pacific Chromium Women's Dual Suspenstion Mountain Bike (26-Inch Wheels) bike.

Excellent bike for the money. Great shipping and customer service. Very pleased with all aspects of this transaction. Thank you .

Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge

วันพุธที่ 5 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2553
Topeak Road Morph Store
I have Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge found this pump very useful and portable. Attaches to the bike frame with the supplied flexible mounting. I like that you can screw on the mounting, if your bike frame has that capability - or you can "soft" mount it using the supplied other mounting hardware. They even gave a little instruction booklet for the mounting.

Also nice is the Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge fold out foot rest and extension tube, which make for an easy pumping action. And of course, the handy little pressure gauge.

The only reason why I gave this 4 stars, not 5, is there was no manual for newbies like me to refer to. So here's an attempt at a how-to.

First - remove the usually black, Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge plastic cover from your tire valve - so you should be looking at a metallic, threaded valve assembly.

Next, figure out if you have a presta (narrower) or schrader (wider) valve on your tires. To figure out which you have, google for images.

Then - adjust the Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge pump head (or tip) to match your tire valve. My Topeak shipped with the pump head set for presta valve. I quickly discovered my tire valves were schrader, and not compatible with the pump. After some googling and head-scratching, I finally figured it out. You have to take apart the pump head assembly and put it back together the same way as given in the picture on the packaging. DOH. Gently unscrew and take off the little metal cap on top of the pump head (tip). Then gently pull out the black rubber piece inside, and the metal nozzle. For the Schrader valve, make sure the larger opening of this black piece is facing outward. The small opening of the rubber piece should be facing inwards, and should fit over the narrow end of the nozzle/metal piece. Having flipped the assembly, push it all back into the pump head, then screw the cap back on - and presto ;) you have a Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge Schrader compatible pump head.

Next, loosen the cap on the pump head part-way, let it sit on the tire's metal valve. Press down a little bit so that the valve goes into the tube a little bit. Then, counter-intuitively, screw the cap back up into the head assembly.

Now push the black lever at Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge the back of the pump head so that it snaps into place at a 90 degree angle to the plane of valve.

This procedure gets you a tight join/seal between the tire valve and pump head. You are ready to pump!

To disengage, I found it easier to first unscrew the cap on the pump head till it came off the pump head and dropped onto the valve.Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge This way there was less leakage when I unlocked the lever, and pulled off the rubber piece from the tire valve. I am sure there are better ways - but this should get you started :) Also, for more expert bikers, please comment on this little how-to with improvements so we can benefit. Thanks!
The key feature of this pump is that the pump head is connected to the main pump by a short section of rubber tubing. This lets you put the end of the pump on the ground after locking the head onto the tube valve. Then, you can use your body weight to do the pumping as with a floor pump Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge, which is nice if you've got skimpy arms like me and need road tire pressure (100+ psi). A short, plastic foot swings down so you can use your foot to keep the bottom end of the Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge pump from slipping as you pump Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge. I'm a bit worried that this foot or its hinge will break, so I try to be careful not to stress it when I'm pumping on pavement, but it's held up fine after over a dozen uses. Finally, while the gauge doesn't seem to be super precise, it's definitely good enough to be confident that you've got the right amount of pressure 'til you get home to your floor pump. As a year-round, carless commuter, I'm happy I found this reliable,Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gauge well-designed pump and have recommended it enthusiastically to other cycle-commuters.
